Warren Street
General Manager

Warren trained as an Enrolled Nurse in 1989 then gained his Registration in 2000. Warren has extensive Clinical experience in acute care, mental health, program development and staff management and training. Warren has been at Eden since 2011 and was appointed to the General Manager position in August 2013.


Dr David Eckerman MB, BS, FAFRM (RACP)
Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine

Dr David Eckerman studied for his primary degree in Medicine at the Central University of Venezuela. At the completion of his studies, David took a rural post in the mountains in Caracas. He then migrated to Australia, training in rehabilitation in Sydney where he was exposed to a broad range of rehabilitation pathologies and techniques. Dr Eckerman has significant experience in Neuro Rehabilitation – with a particular interest in Spasticity/Dystonia Management, Stroke Rehabilitation and Neurodegenerative Diseases, Musculoskeletal Medicine and Chronic Pain Management. Dr Eckerman also has expertise in Spinal Medicine, Brain Injury, Geriatric and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation.


Dr Gerrit Fialla MB, BS (Hons), FAFRM (RACP), Grad Cert Geriatrics
Director of Rehabilitation Services

Dr Gerrit Fialla commenced as a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine at Eden in early 2005 before being appointed Director of Rehabilitation Services in February 2006. Dr Fialla studied Medicine at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. He has extensive experience in Rehabilitation Medicine – having held the position of Director of Rehabilitation and Aged Care at the Wentworth Area Health Service in NSW between 1997-2004. Dr Fialla’s areas of special interest include Geriatric Rehabilitation, Stroke Management, Amputee Management and Leg Ulcer Management.


Dr Mark Newbold M.B.,B.S.,
Senior Medical Officer

Graduated from University of Queensland in 1975. Spent the next 5 years in hospitals in Tasmania and Western Australia, with higher training in General Medicine, Haematology and Intensive Care. Entered General Practice in 1981 at the Noosa Medical Centre with particular interests in General Medicine, Geriatrics, Palliative Care, and Orthopaedics. Retired from General Practice after the last years with the Maple Street Surgery in Cooroy and now works in the capacity of SMO at Eden Rehabilitation Hospital since 2011.


Dr Phoebe Slape BSc(Biomed), MBBS, FAFRM
Rehabilitation Consultant

Dr Phoebe Slape completed her medical degree at the University of Queensland and has gained experience in Rehabilitation Medicine across both private and public sectors including tertiary hospitals and community care within the Sunshine Coast Health Service District and the greater Brisbane region. This has included Geriatric and Stroke Specialist teams. She completed training at Eden Rehabilitation, the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Unit at The Princess Alexandra Hospital, and Redcliffe Hospital. Dr Slape’s areas of special interest are in falls prevention, geriatric rehabilitation, cancer rehabilitation, amputee and neuro rehabilitation. Dr Slape is providing in-patient care and out patient clinics including supervision of day therapy programs. Dr Slape has also taken the position of Director of Clinical Training, supervising the Queensland Health Rehabilitation Registrars during their rotations at Eden.
