Occupational Therapists

An Occupational Therapist will assess the physical, sensory, cognitive, perceptual and emotional activities of your daily life to help you to regain your maximum level of independence. This may include assistance with:


• Household tasks (eg. washing, cooking, cleaning)
• Personal care activities (eg. showering, dressing, eating)
• Safety modifications to your home
• Prescription of aids
• Writing retraining
• Sensory retraining
• Work assessments and graded return to work programs

An Occupational Therapist may visit your home prior to you leaving hospital to recommend modifications to your environment which will allow you to maintain your independence.
